GPT-5.2 is described as improving performance on long-context understanding, tool use, spreadsheet and presentation generation, coding, and "complex multi-step projects."[1][2] For a firm, those areas map directly onto tasks like matter chronology building, deposition prep packs, document review workflows, litigation timelines, damages modeling support, and internal project management.
But release momentum cuts both ways. New models can increase productivity, and simultaneously create new failure modes: overreliance, confidential data exposure, hallucinated citations, prompt injection, and policy drift when model behavior changes between versions.
